This Fair Usage Policy ("FUP") outlines acceptable usage standards for all hosting services provided by Smart IT Host, including Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Cloud Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, and related services. This policy ensures fair allocation of server resources, service stability, and optimal performance for all customers.
2. Definition of "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" Hosting
plans advertised as "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" do not imply unlimited physical server resources. These terms indicate:
- No predefined numerical limits under normal website usage
- Resource allocation based on typical hosting needs
- Usage must remain reasonable and website-related
All resources such as CPU, RAM, disk storage, bandwidth, and inodes remain finite and shared where applicable.
3. General Fair Usage Requirements
Customers agree to use Smart IT Host services in a manner that:
- Does not negatively impact server performance
- Does not affect other customers' services
- Is directly related to legitimate website operations
- Complies with applicable local and international laws
Smart IT Host reserves the right to monitor usage to maintain service quality.
4. Acceptable Usage
Permitted uses include:
- Website files, images, databases, scripts, themes, and plugins
- Website-related audio/video content
- Licensed downloadable materials owned by the customer
- Email hosting associated with domains
- CMS platforms such as WordPress, WHMCS, Laravel, etc.
All hosted content must be lawful.
5. Prohibited Usage
The following activities are strictly prohibited, particularly on Shared and Reseller Hosting:
- Using hosting accounts as file storage unrelated to websites
- Large-scale backup storage
- Storing excessive archives (ZIP, RAR, ISO, TAR, 7Z) not actively used by a website
- Public file-sharing, torrent, or download repositories
- Mirror websites or replication hosting
- High-resource streaming services on shared hosting
- Bulk email marketing or mass mailing systems
- Hosting pirated, copyrighted, illegal, or harmful content
- Unauthorized account sharing
- Unauthorized resale of personal hosting accounts
Customers requiring higher resources must upgrade to VPS, Cloud, or Dedicated plans.
6. Resource Usage Limits
To maintain server stability, Smart IT Host may impose reasonable limits including:
- CPU usage thresholds
- RAM consumption limits
- Entry process/concurrent connection limits
- Disk I/O limits
- MySQL query usage limits
- Inode usage restrictions
Excessive resource consumption may result in throttling, suspension, or upgrade requests.
7. Email Usage Policy
To prevent abuse:
- Bulk email campaigns are not permitted on shared hosting
- Spam or unsolicited email is strictly prohibited
- Email sending limits may apply per hour/day
- Blacklisting caused by customer activity remains customer responsibility
Violations may lead to immediate suspension.
8. Backup Responsibility Disclaimer
While Smart IT Host may provide automated backup services as a courtesy:
- Backups are not guaranteed
- Customers are solely responsible for maintaining their own backups
- Accounts exceeding storage or inode limits may be excluded from backup systems
Smart IT Host is not liable for data loss.
9. Illegal Activities
Strictly prohibited:
- Pirated software, media, or copyrighted material without authorization
- Phishing, scams, fraud, or malware distribution
- Child exploitation content
- Any activity violating applicable laws
Accounts involved in illegal activities may be suspended or terminated immediately without prior notice.
10. Abuse and Service Protection
Any activity that:
- Causes server instability
- Excessively consumes resources
- Affects other customers' services
may result in:
- Temporary suspension
- Resource limitation
- Required service upgrade
- Permanent termination (in severe cases)
Server stability always takes priority.
11. Suspension and Termination
Smart IT Host reserves the right to:
- Issue warnings
- Restrict account functionality
- Suspend services
- Terminate accounts without refund in case of policy violations
Actions are taken to maintain overall service reliability.
12. Upgrade Requirement
Customers exceeding reasonable shared hosting usage may be required to upgrade to:
- VPS Hosting
- Cloud Hosting
- Dedicated Servers
Failure to upgrade may result in service restriction.
13. Policy Updates
Smart IT Host may modify this Fair Usage Policy at any time without prior notice. Continued use of services indicates acceptance of the latest policy version.
